In 1999, the American Heart Association set a bold 10-year goal: reduce coronary heart disease, stroke, and risk by 25 percent by 2010. They achieved the reduction in deaths ahead of schedule and made substantial progress against three of the six risk factors. Their 2020 Impact Goal focuses on helping people build stronger health and a better quality of life.

One of the ways they achieve this is through community awareness. The Great Richmond chapter of the American Heart Association will hold its annual Heart & Stroke Walk on Saturday, October 7.

12575 West Creek Parkway, Richmond, VA 23238
Activities Begin at 8:00 AM; Walk Begins at 9:30 AM

More than 105 local companies and 50 community teams will participate in this year’s Walk. The goal is to raise $1.6 million for continued research and community education programs in Central Virginia.
Sheltering Arms is a proud sponsor and we encourage you to join our team or organize one of your own. Every step counts towards reducing our community’s #1 and #5 causes of death and disability–heart disease and stroke.
