Sheltering Arms received Top Honors in Virginia Living magazine’s annual list of the Commonwealth’s top hospitals and hospital systems. Editors conduct thorough research on more than 200 facilities focusing on patient reviews, national and state rankings and other factors that contribute to outstanding health care delivery. As a result of the publication’s research, Sheltering Arms was recognized for excellence and innovation in patient care.
Sheltering Arms was named among the top 15 physical therapy providers in the Richmond area by Expertise.com. Fifty-eight providers were reviewed and scored on more than 25 variables across five categories including reputation, credibility, experience, availability and professionalism. Results were analyzed yielding a handpicked list of the top physical therapy providers to connect people with the best local experts.
For the third consecutive year, Hillary Hawkins, MD, and Albert Jones, MD, were recognized as Top Docs in the physical medicine and rehabilitation category of the magazine’s annual awards. The publication surveys Richmond’s medical community in 90 categories and shares the doctors they would visit or recommend to their friends or loved ones. OurHealth Richmond annually recognizes health communities and services for exceptional senior care. In 2019, Sheltering Arms was honored in the following categories:
Sheltering Arms’ Antimicrobial Stewardship Program was awarded bronze by the Virginia Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Advisory Group. Our program meets the criteria for bronze status as indicated by the Virginia Antimicrobial Stewardship Honor Roll for acute care hospitals. Due to our participation in statewide antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, we were also awarded a star. The status and star are indicated on the Virginia HAI Advisory website to designate facilities compliant with antibiotics stewardship.
We were also honored recently as one of “The Achievers 50 Most Engaged Workplaces™ in the United States.” This annual award recognizes employers that display leadership and innovation toward engaging their employees. With this award, Sheltering Arms joins the ranks of some very large and well known companies, such as Zappos, Cisco Systems, Inc. and Alcoa.
