Sheltering Arms physician, Dr. Aaron Jones, recently traveled to the Dominican Republic for a medical mission trip where he was part of a two-day conference in amputee care. He gave two presentations on medical management and the use of a multidisciplinary team approach to caring for patients following amputation. He also spent several days evaluating patients and assessing their need for new prostheses, as well as working at an orphanage for children with cerebral palsy.
Dr. Jones traveled as part of a group with Physicians for Peace and worked with a non-profit rehab hospital system called ADR in Santo Domingo.
