Sheltering Arms' Industrial Rehabilitation program helps individuals recover from workplace injuries and avoid on-the-job hazards. Our return to work plan takes into account job requirements, specific injuries and individual needs. Our therapists facilitate physical recovery, improve strength and conditioning, teach safe body mechanics and adaptations, determine the individual's safe maximum abilities and make recommendations to facilitate a successful return to work.
Industrial Rehabilitation services include:
Functional Capacity Evaluations (based on the Matheson® System)
- objective and comprehensive testing of functional abilities and limitations
- clear, work-relevant statements regarding ability to return to work
- impairment ratings estimates provided as requested
Work Hardening
- full-day, multi-disciplinary treatment and supervision ideal for patients whose employers are unable to provide modified work
- job simulation tasks related to the target job
- instruction on safe work techniques and mechanics
Work Conditioning
- half-day, industrial athlete model to increase strength, mobility and endurance
Ergonomic Evaluations and Job Site Analyses
- an outline of the physical demands required to perform a particular job
- recommendations for work environment modification to improve worker safety and productivity
